About me
As a School Counselor in CPS since 2009, I have a strong background in trauma informed practices, crisis counseling, postsecondary planning, career exploration, counseling core curriculum, restorative practices, and tiered interventions. I hold a Masters Degree in Education with School Counseling and Teaching Certification. Plus, I hold the CPS Chicago Equity and Access Advising Credential. During SY21, I was able to accomplish a long time professional goal and became a RAMP School Counseling Program, and was also recognized in other ways such as School Counselor of the Month (March), Success Bound Community Award, and the School Counseling Impact Award. In my spare time, I enjoy time with my kids who are 6 years old and 4 years old. I'm lucky to have both a son and a daughter who keep me on my toes. Besides, playing with Barbie's and Number Blocks, we enjoy taking walks around the neighborhood and spending time with family. This school year, it has been my mission to create an equitable school environment where all students feel safe, comfortable, and included. We have our very first Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) and had the privilege of co-presenting "Using the Affirmed Name (or “Goes By” Name) for Students: The When, Why, How" during SWAP, which enhanced my knowledge and ability to support all students.
