Students today are exposed to the effects of our rapidly changing climate on a regular basis: hotter summer days, smoke from forest fires, and images of tornadoes and hurricanes on the media. Recent studies show that children are growing more and more concerned about the climate crisis and its effects, leading to greater stress and anxiety about the future. This session will explore "eco-anxiety" and ways school counselors can best support students.
I have been a teacher and school counselor at Cameron Magnet School of the Arts for almost 30 years. I truly love the community I serve and the work I do.
